Offline handling

If the internet connection is lost before or during the transaction, POS cannot communicate with Liquid Barcodes via Applicator service. the POS can collect a user identifier and temporarily store the transaction on the POS.

When the internet connection is resumed, the transaction can be sent to Liquid Barcodes for after-sales processing.

POS uses the Sales Service to send the transaction to Liquid Barcodes.

Benefits and use cases

Offline handling is most important for stores with unreliable internet connections.

Offline handling ensures that shoppers will get rewards such as points and stamps.

Shoppers cannot use coupons in-store through this method since they require a live internet connection to prevent fraud.
